Ptolemy will be a map application for tourists focusing on the cultural, historical and artistic heritage of destinations in Europe. We are leveraging modern web technology and linked open data, as well as the real experience of local storytellers, aiming to offer deeper travel experiences, easier access to quality information and the discovery of places through multimedia and offers that leave travelers with something memorable.
Our target is to aggregate a variety of available online content, encouraging citizen engagement with diverse opinions, identities, heritage preservation and the sharing of values. Ptolemy has the potential to support public dialogue, help small places become visible and boost local economies.
