Data Week is the spring gathering of the European Big Data Value and Industrial AI research and innovation community. This year, Data Week was be held online from 25th to the 27th of May. The event followed the tradition of the Big Data Value Summit, promoting opportunities, knowledge sharing and fostering ecosystem development.
The event highlighted Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programme funding possibilities and gave visibility to a large number of European research and innovation initiatives and projects throughout the field.
Alexandra Garatzogianni, Coordinator of MediaFutures, presented the MediaFutures project in the panel “Role of Data Incubators in the shaping of European Data Spaces”. This session aimed to bring together past and present European Data Incubators, and to discuss about the contribution of those instruments to the establishment of the European Data Spaces.
The objective of Data Week was to shape the role that European Data Incubators could play in the creation of European Data Spaces, as the EC defines in the new European Data Strategy and includes as part of the DEP programme.
The event is co-organised by BDVA/DAIRO and EUHubs4Data project. As Portugal is currently holding the EU presidency, the event collaborates with Portuguese BDVA/DAIRO members Decsis, Ubiwhere and Valuedate.io to strengthen the cooperation with the country’s Big Data Value and Industrial AI ecosystem.
