IRCAM-Centre Pompidou

IRCAM-Centre Pompidou is a non-profit research institution located in Paris, associated with Centre Pompidou. It was founded in 1977 as part of the Centre Pompidou project by Pierre Boulez as an institution dedicated to promoting collaborations between researchers, engineers and artists and has remained since then a unique Art-Tech-Science reference worldwide. For MediaFutures, IRCAM manages all activities involving artists and leads the residency programme.

IRCAM has a long history of Art-Science residencies as it has organized for more than 10 years artistic research residencies inside its labs. As coordinator of VERTIGO STARTS Residencies project, IRCAM organised and monitored 45 arts residencies in research labs and tech companies throughout Europe in all ICT fields. Thanks to its artistic and scientific network as well as the one it collaboratively developed for STARTS, the French institution was an active actor of MediaFutures’ results dissemination.
