DUBB•E is a technology and art project grounded on the idea that data is a malleable material that can be transformed and transmuted into a variety of media beyond the conventional, silent, representations such as charts, maps, graphs and static images in general.

Cristian Vogel’s sonic design studio ‘Ekometic’ will fork and extend the features and functionality of an existing open source project – an easy to use web app for instant data sonification currently called ‘TwoTone’.

In collaboration with our artistic partner, Hugh McGrory (aka hmack) , we will engage the general public by sonically shaping data into audiovisual forms through on-line tools, hands-on workshops and exhibits. Data sonification is our entry point for wider data-to-sound familiarisation and to provoke conversations about generative information models, their use, subversion or misuse, and impact on life-centred creative technology.

Cristian Vogel is a music producer, audio technologist and sonic innovator. His independent career in music and audio technology has won prizes and awards establishing him as an outstanding influence in the fields of composition and sonic design. He is currently based in Copenhagen where he continues creating technologically based music, sound and code at his studios NeverEngineLabs / Ekometic. Very driven and passionate about the significance of music and sound through and beyond the scope of arts and entertainment, he continues to produce at the cutting edge of the sound design sector.
