Fake news has the potential to deceive us and to cause unrest. However, manual checking of individual news items is extremely time-consuming. The solution: Factinsect, an AI-based automated fact checking tool. A simple traffic light system provides readers with information about the credibility of the content

Our goal is to show the positive effects of the Factinsect via art, and to explore the possibilities of encompassing new technological advances in artistic creations. The artwork will offer a gamified experience to the viewers: The audio-visual artwork changes depending on the trustworthiness of the article and the emotions of the reader.

The artwork deals with and entangles information accuracy, human emotions, human-nonhuman relations, the water embodiment of self and the persona, the sonification and the visualization of data and emotions.

The project enables us to show that Factinsect strengthens democracy and builds trust in content we read online.

About our team:

Factinsect was founded by Romana Dorfer (software) and Silja Kempinger (marketing). The startup is incubated in Science Park Graz, Austria.
