The project aims to empower readers to counter disinformation and misinformation in online discussion by allowing them to fact check their comments before they post them on our debating platform for media sites. It uses AI to automatically display reliable data and articles relevant to the debate topic. Readers can then consult this information to write a more informed argument.

In turn, the project want to give democratic impact to this informed debate. It will be done by creating concise visual summaries of debates on media partners’ sites that give insights into the themes, sub-themes and the opinions/sentiments expressed by readers in the debate. It will use NLP to do this.

The overall goal is that the summaries make reader debates on media sites a key indicator of public opinion and make readers’ voices actionable. A partnernership with governments will be created by making summaries on key issues available to them to inform their decision making and hold power to account.

Founded in Paris in 2019, Logora is a team of 6 developers and designers dedicated to creating a quality debating platform where citizens can discuss key issues, make up their own mind and have their voices heard in policymaking. Through moderation and ranking arguments by relevance to debates, we ensure constructive discussion. We provide a debating platform for the readers of 20 media sites in France and Belgium. The platform receives 8000 arguments and 2800 subscriptions per day. Since our launch 1.6 million people have registered with our media partners via our platform.
