Someone Must Have Been Telling Lies

“Someone must have been telling lies…” will address misinformation and disinformation by creating pathways for marginalised people and communities to find, create and use data to build community power. Through a partnership between National Theatre Wales (NTW) and Data4Change (D4C), we’ll deliver a range of outputs as part of the NTW project “Welsh Radical”. At its heart is a radical adaptation of Kafka’s “The Trial”.

Working with Ethnic Minorities & Youth Support team in Swansea, and Grange Pavilion Youth Forum in Cardiff, we’ll map data and identify gaps in information, and then carry out collaborative data collection and analysis. This will support community collaborators to harness data to spark positive change.

“Welsh Radical” will be delivered in 3 “acts”. In the daytimes, there will be workshops, events and actions. In the evenings there will be data-informed performances of the play, followed by an after-dark programme of music and connection.
