Startup meets Artist
In this track, MediaFutures intends to combine the ingenuity of entrepreneurs and the creativity of artists to accelerate innovation. It aims at creating new synergies between artists, startups and data providers.
MediaFutures will support teams consisting of a startup and an artist/artistic company collaboratively developing a new concept of data technology and the arts. Supported projects will lead to new experiences making data exploration both entertaining and informative, building upon products, services and tech used or developed by the startup. Selected artists and startups will go to the START phase, where they will receive €5,000 each and have one more to develop their proposal further. Following a pitch competition at the end of the START phase, half will then jump to the BUILD phase and receive €65,000 for startups and €30,000 for artists and six months of support to develop their solution. An additional prize will be awarded to the selected team during the final demo day (€10,000 for the startup and €5,000 for the artist).
The teams will be followed by monitors from IRCAM and NMA to cover both the business and the artistic needs of these transdisciplinary teams.
